Sudden surge in site popularity

In the last five days the site daily visits climbed from 3k to 30k. Yesterday the site had 2.3 million pageviews, which were usually reached in two weeks.
The trend is still growing. All new visits seem to be coming from Saudi Arabia. Anyone knows what happened?

The server seems to be coping well so far, but I don't know how it's going to scale in the future. I'll try to optimize the implementation in order to consume less resources. Expect some (small) downtime.
